Hazell Parka

After the completion of the Kendrick parka and many hours spent buried inside my sketch book, I'm really happy to be at this stage with another project. The process for this particular design has been detailed and thoughtful to say the least. From the moment I put pen to paper and started developing the idea, I knew what I was trying to achieve and am thrilled to say I have done so.

 

I'm really happy with how they've turned out and feel that they absolutely epitomise what Creu is about and what I want the label to be known and recognised for.

  

The Hazell parka is a multi pocket (7 in total), mid-thigh length, medium weight jacket. It's constructed from a hybrid emulsified wax cotton from Dundee mill Halley Stevenson. The lining is a rich, soft pearl cotton twill. The quality of these fabrics are absolutely exquisite and that's why I continue to use the suppliers in question. The jacket comes with a size 10 YKK double acting zip and silver metal press studs, which I think compliments the fabric beautifully.

The parka is fully lined, waterproof, windproof and built with the Welsh climate in mind.

 

I have spent considerable time getting the hood just right, this is one of the most integral parts of  a jacket for me. I have always loved big, high neck hoods and I have tried to emulate that with this one. It has a peaked visor and a fabric draw pull at the back.

Other details include under arm riveted vent holes and a hem pull cord made from the fabric.

 

  

  

As with the Kendrick parka, I have a set number of units agreed with the factory and once these are fulfilled that will be it so these will be available on a first come, first served basis. Therefore if you are planning to order I advise that you set a page notification on instagram as this is where the pre order will be opened and orders will be placed via DM.

 
Once you’ve placed your order you will be kept up to date on production progress at regular intervals. I will notify you of any delays or changes, which unfortunately do sometimes occur.

The fabric is made to order so this needs to be taken into consideration along with normal production lead times. I anticipate they will be ready sometime during February. This is only an approximate estimation and could change but I will always give you prior notice and keep you up to date if it does so.

• The Hazell parka is priced at £365. This includes special delivery shipping (overseas shipping will be calculated dependent on country)

• A deposit of £150 will be required to be paid upon placing your order 

• The remaining balance of £215 will be payable upon completion of production 

Why the slight increase in price from the Kendrick parka?

Quite simply, this jacket is more expensive to make with higher fabric costs and a more intricate design. This needs to be incorporated into the price for this to be sustainable.

Sizing & Fit 

This is meant only as a guide to help you choose the most appropriate size and to get an understanding of how the jacket looks and fits.

The Hazell parka is designed to be worn loose, it hangs better when worn this way due to the nature of the cut, which is straight down from the pit with a reverse taper when viewed from a side profile. For your reference I am wearing an XL in the photographs. This size is relaxed on me and leaves plenty of room for layering and movement. I prefer to wear this size as I like the look of a looser cut, however I could easily wear a L if i wanted a closer fit.
